Some older residents of the small town Village (Dane County) of
know the Cambridge House Bed & Breakfast as the Doctor Bilstad
home. Doc Bilstad came to Cambridge in the years after World
War One, buying this corner home property close to the school
he so could watch from his back door as his three girls walked
into the schoolhouse each day. A history of the Inn is

Cambridge House was once the name of a local hotel on the square but now belongs to our relaxing and romantic Inn. You are invited to relax in our 100 year old home with yesterday's grace, charm, and elegance, completely renovated for your comfort. We guarantee you will appreciate our B&B's quality and ambience more than any other local hotel, guest house, motel or another south central Wisconsin B&B.
Guests of Cambridge House now come to 123 East Main Street for the relaxation that is so important to a healthy lifestyle. They sit in what was Doc's office to discuss wonderful ideas or just talk about the Jacuzzi bath they enjoyed the night before. Our suites also include CD Players, TV/VCR, Fluffy Robes and towels, a Hair Dryer, Private Bath, Fireplaces (in 3 rooms) and a Peaceful and Relaxing Atmosphere in our Secluded Gardens. Stay with us and enjoy our luxury, a Wine and Appetizer Reception, a Night Time Snack and in the morning Coffee, Tea, Juices, Pastries while Jeff (with Linda's help) prepares a Gourmet breakfast (some recipes are on our recipe page).
Our overnight guest can stay (click on an underlined link for more details and pictures) in the Scarlet Suite, Garden Suite, Northwoods Lodge, Log Cabin Suite, or Mountain Hideaway. Special rates and packages are available (call us a 608-423-7008 for details) and you could reserve/rent the entire house for that special party or family reunion (reserve all 5 rooms at a very special price - even more rooms available in the immediate surrounding area at other Inns). The Cambridge House B & B's accommodations and other facilities are also great for Corporate business travel, Surprise Parties or other gatherings, Bridal Showers, Anniversary events, Celebrations, weekend getaways (winter, spring, summer or fall), Baby Showers, Honeymoon, Girls Getaway, Birthday Parties, Luncheons, Businesses Meetings, Hen Parties or other special occasion . We can help you with hosting and planning your event. How about a Wedding or elopement party in our garden, We can even provide Pedicures, Manicures, In-room Massages, Wine and Cheese Baskets, Flowers, Picnic Baskets and we can garage your bike.
